Wine Wednesday: St. Supery “Elu”
Welcome to our first edition of Wine Wednesday! Each Wednesday, we’ll feature a different wine…tell its story, talk about its profile and make food pairing recommendations. Each wine will be available on the ‘Wine by the Glass’ list in all U.S. Morton’s locations, and most are available in your grocery store or local wine shop. Our goal is to help our guests, friends and followers learn more about wine…to help take the mystery and intimidation out of ordering or purchasing wine. There’s so much to learn when it comes to wine, but we will try to make Wine Wednesdays easy to understand and interesting!
Today’s Featured Wine: St. Supery, “Elu,” Meritage, Napa, 2006
The Story:
- “Elu” in French means “The Chosen”
- The artwork on the bottle changes every year, just like the blend, and represents the artists’ rendition of what St. Supery would look like if there were a St. Supery
- This vineyard was developed on an old cattle ranch
The Profile:
- Lush and full Bordeaux blend
The Pairing:
- All steaks and sauces
- This wine has balanced tannins that will match up to any of our steaks or sauces
We met with Michael Scholz from St. Supery to talk more about “Elu,” which you can view at www.youtube.com/mortonsthesteakhouse. And check out an article that went out earlier this week in Chain Leader about our ‘Wine by the Glass’ program!
